I love me some stuffed peppers! Especially when the rice is replaced with stuffing!! Who said you can only place stuffing in a turkey!
What you need:
6 green peppers
1 pound of ground turkey or beef (I use turkey)
1 box of stuffing
Salt and pepper (to taste)
2-4 cloves of garlic (to taste)
Worchester Sauce (to taste)
1/2 cup of water
2 cans of stewed tomatoes
Shredded cheddar cheese
What you need to do:
Cut the tops off the green peppers and remove seeds
You do NOT need to boil the peppers or cook the meat. The peppers will soften and the meat will cook in the oven.
Mix ground turkey, salt/pepper, stuffing (uncooked), water, and stewed tomatoes together in a large mixing bowl (I also put ~ 2 cups of cheese in this mix as well as on the top when they are getting close to finishing)
Put meat mixture into peppers (stuff them good)
Place peppers in a baking pan and place into the oven at 350 degrees
All ovens are different but they will usually take approximately 45-60 minutes to fully cook. You can use a thermometer to ensure the meat is fully cooked inside the peppers.
About 10 minutes before removing the peppers from the oven place the shredded cheese on the top of the peppers and allow the cheese to melt
AND if you have extra meat mixture left over you can roll it into small balls and make meaty balls!!
AND while you are waiting for you stuffed peppers to cook why not enjoy a glass of wine! Yummy! Enjoy!
